Budapest, Feb. 1 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and Hungary;s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó held a session of talks in the Hungarian capital Budapest.
In a speech, Dr. Al-Zayani expressed his delight at visiting Hungary and stressed Bahrain’s keenness to develop mutual friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
He highlighted the importance of the official visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Hungary in 2019, which constituted an important leap in their strategic partnership, and had fruitful results that contributed to the development of bilateral cooperation.
Al Zayani also stressed the importance of exchanging high-level visits between officials of the two countries to consolidate friendship and partnership and expressed his aspiration to discuss all areas of cooperation that would contribute to the advancement of bilateral relations and further develop them.
Szijjártó hailed Al Zayani’s visit to Hungary and praised the advanced level of cooperation between Bahrain and Hungary, and its fruitful results. He stressed his country’s wish to advance the friendship and cooperation to serve common interests.
The two sides discussed topics of shared interests, including bilateral cooperation in various economic and development fields, opportunities to promote coordination in the political fields.
They stressed the importance of concerted efforts by the international community to settle global conflicts through diplomatic means and in accordance with the rules of international law and covenants.
The ministers reviewed developments in the global situation, current regional and international crises and conflicts and their repercussions on international peace and security.
Dr. Al Zayani expressed his appreciation for the gracious hospitality extended by the Hungarian authorities and noted his aspiration to continue joint efforts to advance the process of bilateral cooperation and achieve mutual goals and interests.
